Diggle

The newest contest on the Saddleworth block, Diggle Whit Friday Brass Band Contest has been running since 2009. The Contest has an unusual arrangement, in that we turn coaches around when they arrive in the village.  This can make things look a bit busy at times, but we have a very fast turnaround, and work hard to give accurate information about how long waiting times are.

The march is short, from the bottom of Sam Road to the covered “Diggle Dome” on Diggle Tunnel Tip, where there is a  great food offering.  Food and drink is also available at Diggle Band Club, and we have the a coffee van just where the coaches park, if you need a caffeine fix!

We attract a variety of brass bands, from Championship to Scratch Bands.   We have a range of prizes, and a special prize for Unregistered Bands.

Have a look at our website for more information for visitors and bands.
