Dobcross is considered to be the historic centre of Saddleworth and the idyllic Churchfields village green is a wonderful location for you to listen to world famous brass bands from the UK and overseas who compete alongside local, youth and scratch bands.
However, as a typical hilltop Pennine village with some cobbled sections and narrow pavements, access to and within the village can be challenging.
There is no vehicle access within Dobcross during the band contest and all lanes coming into the village mean walking up a hill, some of which are steeper than others.
Remember, band coaches will be being driven through the village throughout the duration of the contest.
